Mashup1 (12″ x 12″, vinyl records and paper, 2016) is a record and sleeve made up of two other records and sleeves (Bauhaus’ Go Away White and Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures), and exists both as playback media and sculpture.

Stuart Matz is a New York based visual artist who grew up in Washington, DC skateboarding and playing in punk bands before getting into design. Under the moniker STUGAZI he produces work that remixes cultural touchstones with humor and attitude. Stuart’s work has been included in multiple national and international exhibitions.

An Artists in Residence program sprang up at our New York property in 2014 and this year, we’re taking the concept on tour with our friends at Printed Matter, Inc. 40 Years / 40 Nights celebrates the institution’s 40th year by showcasing a new crop of 40 artists from around the world across 2016.
